Xi was sick

My big princess was sick since last week. She started having high fever on Sunday but after taking her medicine, the fever remained high, so we brought her to see the GP nearby my aunty's place the next day. Dr Tan changed her medicine to a stronger kind and ask her to bring her for blood test if the fever did not subside on Wednesday.

For the following days until Wed her fever came and went and her mood swing accordingly. When the medicine took effect and her body temperature was normal, she was as active and lovely as usual but when the fever shot up, my poor gal was all cranky. So on Thursday morning, we brought her to the Pasir Ris polyclinic for blood test. Everyone needed to check for body temperature and given mask to wear. Surprisingly Xi was ok with wearing the mask thanks to the cute Mickey prints on the mask and when seeing other gorgor jiejie wearing the mask too. We even took a few photos of us wearing mask:

The blood test result showed she had low count of platelet. Dr Tan said she has viral infection but good news was her fever has started to subside. He asked us to monitor her for the next two days. If she started having red spots on her body, got to bring her back for blood test as could be dengue. Otherwise, bring her for another blood test again on Sat to make sure the platelet count has back to normal.

The next day, we were shocked to see red spots started to appear on her body and face, so quickly brought her to the polyclinic again for blood test. Thank goodness the blood test showed her platelet has gone up and doctor diagnosed the red spots was due to false measles which will subside in 5 days. During this period, she will feel uncomfortable and thus cranky. Oh, forgot to add, my big little gal did not whine or shed a tear when drawing blood for blood test in both occassions. Bravo my darling! Mummy is so proud of you! :)

Poor gal was waiting at the clinic again, the 4th time within a week. She was such a good gal when the doctor was checking on her that the doctor gave her a thumb up and praised her:

Our big princess has since recovered from her fever and back to her old self. We are glad to find our cheeky and happy little gal back. :)

Thank God it's not dengue!
Poor baby must be so uncomfortable with all the fever :(

No wonder you haven't been active posting in the Feb thread... must be up to your neck with work and worrying about Xi.

Take care!

Hi, a relief to know that Xi is back to her normal self. She seemed have lost weight and her hair has grown longer. I have not seen her for only 1 week +. She has been very good and brave, ah. She is not scared of blood drawing. Btw, how is work and your relocation ?

Ah... how can i forget this important info! Yes, she did not cry at all both times drawing blood. She has lost some weight when she was sick as she refused to drink her milk milk (which is her all time fav) and no appetite on food. But i think now she has gained all the lost weight back. haha...
