Self feeding and other photos

Self Feed

Xi has started self feed herself porridge and other food many weeks back and is getting better in self feeding, though I still need to feed her at the same time to "speed up" her feeding time and clear the debris lying around her eat area after each meal. Even when we eat out, she will insist to have her own bowl and spoon. She will say "Xi bowl bowl" and will be angry and refuse to eat if we did not give her one.

Bag Lady

Xi is a bag lady, or rather a bag gal! She loves carrying bags (not by hands, but on shoulder like an aunty), be it plastic bag, paper bag or tote bag. Everytime she saw us carrying stuff, she will want to "help" to carry for us, especially when she saw the bag is small and assumably light enough for her to carry. Smart gal, she won't offer to carry heavy stuff though. Hehe...

She saw this bag from a shop and refused to return!

Books In the Car

We bought some books and put in our car for Xi to occupy her time in the car, since everyday she spends almost 2 hours in the car. If i drive, I will put one or two books near her so that she can flip and "read" the books during the journey. Her three favourites are Hi-5 animal song book, a teddy bear book and a gal gal book for potty training. There is also a word book which she can recognise and say out the names of most of the objects in the book, and there is a Gossie book and a few finger fun books. If her daddy drives, i will sit beside her, ask her to choose a book and read for her.

Looking serious reading my magazine

Kek Sai

Guess what Xi was doing in the pictures above? She was trying to poo... Guess it right? :) This gal still not ready for toilet trained, and whenever she is trying to poo, she will go to one corner, standing there, and do her big biz there. During that period of time, no interference is allowed.

A Sticky Gal

Ah Xi has been very sticky to me over the last weekend. We went back to my hometown, Pontian on Friday afternoon to attend my cousin, Hui Yee's wedding which was held on 22.11.2008. Don't know whether it was due to the short nap which she took in the car on the way back to Pontian, or due to the crowd of our relatives who came to attend the wedding, Xi stuck like a koala bear to me throughout the weekend and wanted me to carry all the time. At night, she woke up many times crying for me to carry, and only much pacified will she fall asleep, only to wake up shortly again crying. *Sigh* We went back to our JB home on Saturday night after the wedding dinner. Strangely, she was back to her happy self, lying happily on her new winnie the pooh bedsheet set, even though we only go back to this house during weekend. Home sweet home, i guess, and this gal obviously does not feel comfortable when she feels intimidated by the crowd of relatives who want to play with her and carry her. *sigh*

Due to her stickiness, i did not manage to take much photos at all of the wedding and the beautiful couples. Have a blissful marriage, Yee and Pang!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Every night after we go to bed, and before sleep, I will sing songs for Xi. One of the songs is "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" as everytime when the light is off, she will raise her hands high and shouts "star"! Last night, Xi surprised me by completing the last word of every sentence of the song...

Mummy: Twinkle twinkle little...
Xi: Star
Mummy: How I wonder what you...
Xi: Are
Mummy: Up above the world so...
Xi: High
Mummy: Like a diamond in the...
Xi: Sky
Mummy: Twinkle twinkle little...
Xi: Star
Mummy: How I wonder what you...
Xi: Are

Though she still cannot sing the whole song by herself, I am very happy to see this little milestone of her.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DADDY....

Today is daddy's 3xth birthday! Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

We had early celebration for him on Saturday with a BBQ at Popo's house at Perling. Daddy was busy bbqing whilst mummy and i busy eating so forgot to take picture of the bbq. ;p

Then yesterday, mummy bought a cheese cake from Secret Recipe at Perling Mall, and we sang birthday song and eat cake with all my cousins. More photos later after mummy upload from our videocam.

Daddy's present? A Cyma leather watch from mummy.... *Too bad economy is bad now. Mummy can't afford to buy the Patek Philippe watch which daddy has been eyeing for. Until then, he has to make do with this Cyma watch. Teehee*

In the evening, we went to Vivo City for dinner. Daddy mummy finally decided on having dinner at Thai Accent which serves yummy Thai food in a good ambience. But the aircon is very powerful! Good for eating the spicy food. I was feeling cold though i sat in between daddy and mummy. Afraid that i will catch a cold, daddy asked mummy to take off her black cardigan and let me wear. See how i love mummy's cardigan :)

Is Xi ready for a meimei?

We have, since the beginning of my pregnancy, started to prepare Xi for the arrival of her meimei/didi (we did not know the gender of the baby yet at that time, but Xi has been calling the baby meimei from day 1 when we told her there is a baby inside my tummy). She seems to be getting the idea pretty well, as whenever we ask her where is meimei, she will point to my tummy. When we ask her what is inside daddy's tummy? She will say "fat fat" instead. So she kind of know the difference between what is inside me and her daddy.
We have been telling her now that mummy is having a baby and tummy big big, cannot carry her already. So daddy carrys her and mummy holds her hands. Sometimes when she asked me to carry her, we reminded her mummy can only hold her hand. Sometime she will cry and insist me to carry her but most of the time she listens and let me hold her hand instead. I feel heartpain to have to reject my little gal's plea to carry her. How i love to cuddle her tightly and smell her, and her lying her head on my shoulder!!!
Every night, i will want her to say night night to her meimei and sayang my tummy before she sleeps.

When the baby kicks, i will tell her meimei is kicking and ask her to touch my tummy.

We have also been teaching her to share her toys with her meimei. Everytime we ask her can she share her "mi mi" (her favourite teddy bear "Emily") with meimei? She will hold her "mi mi" to my tummy. But when i asked her can she let meimei sleeps on her playpen since she does not like to sleep in it? She shaked her head.

Xixi and her "mi mi"
The other day when I was carrying baby Kaizheng (SIL's newborn baby boy), Xi quickly ran to me wanted me to carry also. She does not even allow her daddy to carry the baby boy. Haiz.... guess it will take her quite awhile to get used to the idea of us carrying another baby.

We thought of sending Xi to pre-nursery before the arrival of her meimei so that she can be more independent and not so sticky to me as she is now. But after visiting a few childcare centres and after much consideration, we decide to put the idea to later when she is older, probably when she is 2.5 years old. The concern is if we put her to childcare centre now and 3 months later withdraw her for 1 or 2 months due to my confinement (as I will be having confinement in JB), it might be too disruptive for her. Meanwhile, I am looking for any weekend program for her so that she can have an idea of how a school will be like and how to get along with other kids.
I got a few books from amazon on the arrival of new baby and be a big sister after advice from some mummies.

Yesterday first time i read to her "The New Baby at Your House". She was quite captivated by the real life pictures of siblings shown in this book. Good...

Is Xi ready for a meimei? Mmmmnnn.... we shall see 3 months down the road....

Xiang Xiang's 1st Birthday Party

Yesterday we went to Xiang Xiang meimei's 1st birthday party. Xiang Xiang is Xiao Jiu's little princess and she is 7 months younger than me.

She looks so pretty in her pink dress with matching hair clip and the little flower shoes! Many people say we look alike, what do you think? :)

The food and the cake were great and we have a good time playing with the 荧光棒.
