Baby Ling is 1 month old!

Life is certainly much more busier and tire having have to handle a new baby, a toddler who is in her terrible-two, and a young girl who is in N1. Pardon me as you will see more photos than words in my future posts. Baby Ling celebrated her 1st month on 25 September. Like her sisters, her full month was celebrated with simple praying to our ancestors and distribution of cakes to our immediate families and neighbours.

Like her sisters, we shaved Ling's hair to botak on her full month. Photos taken during the shave and after shaving:

Our greatest consolation is the love shower by Xi and Ru to their baby sister. They love to hug her so much sometimes we afraid her small body will be crashed by her rough sisters. :)

Baby still sleeps most of the time...

And mummy is trying hard to give her total breast milk...

Now that I am working from home, hopefully I can breastfeed her for at least 6 months and beyond.

Our Angels

The sisters - Ru (1.5 yo), Ling (2 weeks) and Xi (3.5 yo).

Who is who?

Have you guessed them right?

From top to bottom: Xi, Ru and Baby.

Our newborn does not look like her sisters in real person, but strangely, the three of them look alike from their photos.

The arrival of Princess #3

Welcome our newborn baby girl, our Princess #3! :)

Here's the birth story:

27 August 2010 (Friday):

5.35am: Awaken by Ru who asked for her milk milk. Then realised my mucus plug has broken. Was thinking the next step of action while trying to pat Ru back to sleep.

5.45am: Decided to wake up and start packing just in case. Ru refused to sleep again so hung around me to watch me packing up.

6.30am: Called hubby who was in Japan. Told him baby might not be able to wait for him to come back on Saturday. Hubby was shocked and promised to come back on the day.

6.45am: Woke my younger sis up. She quickly washed up to get ready to send Ru to nanny's house and Xi to her school.

7.10am: Finally sent the girls and my sis off by a cab. Despite much crying and insist me to send her to school, Xi finally agreed to let my sis to bring her instead.

7.20am: My elder sis and BIL arrived in a rush. Three of us and my helper quickly get into their car and on the way to JB. No contraction as yet.

8.10am: Reached my JB clinic. Nurse checked, no dilation yet. Advised to wait for my gynae to check again then advised. Discussed over the phone with hubby, decided to ask to be admitted and wait in the clinic since hubby would reach at night. Asked sis and BIL to go back first as expected a long wait.

2pm: Felt bored waiting in the ward, so got permission to go out of clinic with my helper for a walk. Shopped at the nearby Plaza Pelangi. Can feel slight contraction but bearable.

5pm: Came back from shopping and continued to wait in my ward. Hubby called that he has arrived Changi airport, thought i have delivered.

8pm: Hubby reached. Told him not so soon. Asked him to bring the helper home to rest first. Will call him when about to deliver.

10.44pm: Intense contractions began, about 8 minutes interval.

28 August 2010 (Saturday):

12 midnight: Nurse came and check. 4cm dilated.

2.00am: Could not sleep at all because the contraction was getting worse and unbearable. Nurse checked again. 6-7cm dilated. Said can call hubby already. Walked to the labour room. Waiting game was coming to an end.

2.20am: Hubby reached. Getting very very pain. Was shivering non-stop though not feeling cold.

2.30am: Nurse checked again. Almost fully dilated. Finally went to call the gynae to come. (I was going to curse her already if she was still not going to call gynae).

2.45am: The pain was unbearable and the urge to push was beyond words but was told not to push because the gynae was not here yet. Told them cannot already, baby is coming out!!! Heard the faint heartbeat of bb from the CTG machine.

Before 3am: Gynae finally reached and baby was out almost immediately when he reached. Thank god baby is fine. Was pushed back to the ward after doc finished stitching. Felt aching all over my body and shivering continue.

The nurse brought the baby to me at 6am for breastfeeding, which by then my aching has gone and amazingly, I did not feel the pain of the stitching! Initially baby did not know how to suck, but after 1 hour of teaching her, she could suck very well! Well done my girl!

Doctor came to my ward at around 11am and got his permission to discharge in the afternoon.

Bye bye to my pregnancy journey and welcome the new baby to our family. :)

Happy jiejie holding her xiao mei

The Sisters

Now that Ru is 18 months old, an active and cheeky toddler who can easily tire out her caretaker, especially her heavily preggie mummy. But it is also at this stage that she and her elder sister begin to have more fun playing with each other! Though there are the usually fight on the same toys, pushing on each other and sibling squabbling, there are also the hugging, patting and kissing of each other. Each night, Xi will walk over to the side where Ru sleeps and both girls will hug umpteen times and unseparable before I force Xi to go back to her side of bed to sleep. When Xi fell and cried, Ru will go over pat pat her sister, kiss her and brought jiejie's water bottle for her to drink. And when I scolded any of them, the other one will be either crying or angry at me! How ungrateful!!!

#3 is arriving anytime. Can't wait to see the three girls playing, go to school and have fun together!
