Post Xmas Family Outing

Every year, my diligent elder sister will arrange a year end family gathering in Singapore and my parents, our brothers and their wives, nephews and nieces will come over here for a short stay.

This year, our family came over in the afternoon on 26 December and my elder sister organised a barbecue in her estate. She ordered some cooked food like mee siam, curry chicken, fish ball and prepared salad herself, and also satay, otah, sweet potato, mashmallow for bbq. One big thumb up for you, my dear sister!

We have a lovely evening enjoying the food and chitchatting while the kids were running around the clubhouse and the bbq pit. To everyone's delight especially Xi, my sis has invited my aunt and family to the bbq as well and Xi happily hanging around my aunt and uncle while I was free with the food though still have to carry the clingy Ru.

Next morning, our big family had a simple breakfast at the Bukit Timah hawker centre before heading to Orchard for shopping! Imagine a big group of 17 adults and kids shopping in the crowded shopping centre on a Sunday afternoon, haha... So we split into a few group and fixed a time and place for everyone to gather later. Perfect!
I was slinging Ru and she slept halfway thru the shopping whilst Xi followed my sisters, dancing and singing happily while they were selecting shoes.

Lunch was taken at Crystal Jade Ginseng Chicken & BBQ in the Centrepoint. My elder sis again bought me a birthday cake (yes, that day was my birthday :) ) and everyone sang birthday song for me in the restaurant. *blush* Thanks thanks again to you, my lovely sister! We also took the opportunity to take a family photo.

The day ended with the kids and adults swimming and dipping in the pool. Xi enjoyed her "swim" (which more like playing with water to me) so much that she was one of the last to get out of the pool. I did not let Ru to get into the pool because of the prior experience. Need to get her the thermal swimwear first before letting her to try again.

Xmas Day

We spent our Xmas day lazying around in our JB home because hubby was working from home.

In the evening, I dressed the gals up to attend their cousin, Crystal's 7th birthday celebration in a McDonald. Crystal is the daughter of my husband's elder sister. She is a sensible and smart girl who enjoys drawing and dressing up Barbie dolls. :)

All the cousins were there and we have a sinful feast of chicken, burgers, cold drinks and fries. The restaurant organised some games for the kids with prizes giving to the winners. Xi and Ru were both too young to participate, but Xi enjoyed playing the slides inside the restaurant whilst Ru clinging tightly to me most of the time.

Good thing about celebrating birthday in a restaurant. No hassle in cooking and cleaning up the house afterwards. Just sit down and relax. :)

Happy Birthday Crystal! May your days be filled with sunshine and smiles, laughter and love.

Merry Xmas!

Hubby and I took leave on Xmas eve. In the morning, we brought the gals to M1 shop at Change Alley as we reserved a Blackberry Bold 9700 for hubby whose old Nokia N61 was barely functioning. The queue was long and slow, we waited for about 1 hour before done. Thereafter we drove back to JB with the gals sleeping tiredly in their car seats.

We had dinner at our in-law's place and my MIL followed us back to our JB house for the night. We always feel how lucky those couples who have the help of their parents to take care of their kids. They can have some couple time going out for dinner, shopping and movies. However, we are fortunate to have the help of our aunty in Singapore who takes care of Xi so well, and Agnes, the nanny who helps us to take care of Ru. We are glad my younger sis is staying with us too. At least when hubby is not around, I can have my dinner, take my shower, do the laundry while she helps to keep a watch of the gals.

That night after the gals fell asleep, hubby jio me out for supper, 1st time since we have kids. We drove to a cafe at our estate and was surprised to see so many people with young kids still hanging around at the cafe at such late hours. Tomorrow was the public holiday afterall and guess the festive mood was filling everyone up. After the quick supper, we drove around our estate and enjoy seeing those beautiful lightings on the trees outside our neighbours' houses and many parties around.

We had an ordinary yet delightful day. Hope you had yours too. Merry Xmas everyone! :)

Introducing future dancing queen

The following video clip was taken by my elder sis when she brought Xi to shop at Vivo two weekends ago when hubby and I were in China for business trip. We were marveled at her dancing skill which she learns from Hi-5 show, but most importantly, her courage to dance in the public, as oppose to her shy character all along. My sister joked it was the new jacket which gave her the power to dance! Haha... Enjoy!

爱撒娇的小宝贝

Ru is going to be 10 months old come 20th of this month. However, she is still like a little baby to me, maybe because she is the younger one? My little baby is another sticky baby. Sigh... She will yell for me to carry her and search for me whenever she knows that I am around. When scolded by us, she will sob and bury her face to my chest. She is also a stubborn girl. When she is angry, her scream can tear a house and drive us crazy. When she does not feel like to sit in her car seat, she will straighten her body and make us difficult to buckle her.

However, she appears to be more adventurous than her sister. She loves to crawl and her favourite toy is the basket which I use to put some diapers, diaper cream, Ruyi oil etc. Everytime when we left her on the floor, she will quickly crawl to her room where the basket is, sit beside the basket and pour out everything and start to explore and "taste" the items.

She also likes to cruise around the house by holding on to sofa, cabinet, dining table and chairs, bed... Taking her photos becomes a challenge as there is not a moment she can sit still and let us take photos, especially most of the time I am using my super sensitive iphone as the camera, and slight movement will cause the photos to turn out blur.

Anyway, I managed to capture the following photos of my baby when she busied exploring our TV cabinet.

Enjoy your babyhood my little baobei. You and jiejie are always mummy's 心肝宝贝。

My Little Supermodel

Like all girls, nowadays Xi loves to dress herself up, chooses her own clothes and shoes (and helps us to choose our clothes as well), and wears accessories. Here's some photos of my little gal modelling and posing at home.

She has also grown up to be a more sensible girl. For example, when she woke up middle of the night, instead of crying loudly on her bed waiting for us, she will on the portable mickey lamp (her magic lamp)which every night she places beside her, open the door of her room, then open the door of our room and climbs up to our bed to sleep with us. Everytime when we come home from outside, she will go to the bathroom herself to wash her hands and feet. This morning after she finished her milk, she brought the milk bottle and put on the dining table (instead of shouting for me to get for her) then went back to her mattress to lie beside her sister and talked to her.

My little girl is also a good helper when come to gardening. See how helpful she was helping her daddy to water the plant in our garden. :)

I hope she will remain this pretty and happy. My darling girl!

Papa's 3xth Birthday!

We celebrated Papa's birthday 3 days before his actual birthday. Poor Papa did not have any present from mummy this time as I was too busy with work and no time to go buy a nice present for him. :( To compensate Papa a little, I bought a birthday cake from Baskin Robbins JB for Papa. And here's the lion head birthday cake chosen by Papa himself :)

The birthday cake was nice and even Ru has a taste of the birthday cake as she kept "ah ah ah" asking for it and her Ah Mu bu she de to reject her.

The next day, we had a sumptuous lunch at the TGI Friday restaurant in JB. This had been the 2nd time Papa celebrated his birthday lunch in this restaurant. We love the ambience and the nice food served here. We ordered a kid's nachos set for Xi which comes in free with the main course which we ordered. Xi finished most of the Nachos together with lots of tomato sauce instead of the salsa sauce which comes together with it. Papa and I shared the Mac and Chez (bright cheesy shades of yellowish-orange and filled with macaroni)as the appetizer and New York Strip Steak as the main course. We finished off with a mini snickers pudding as dessert.

Arh... Mummy still owes Papa a birthday pressie. Any good suggestion???
