My 1st Birthday!!!

My 1st birthday was celebrated on 16 February 2008 (Saturday), the 10th day of 2008 lunar new year, though my actual day is on 28 February.

Mummy woke up early that morning to start the birthday preparation whilst daddy and I had a good sleep until 9.30am. It was a beautiful morning and couple with good sleep, i started the day with bright smile, which mummy hope is a good omen for my birthday celebration at night.

Mummy bathed me and let me wear the dark pink bumwear cloth diaper first time! She was pleased to see i did not flip here and there and looks comfy when she put on the bumwear on me, unlike when she tried to put on disposable diaper on me:


We went to Jusco as Da Yi and Da Yi Zhang will come from Sg at 11am and meet us at the Jusco. They had their breakfast at a coffee shop inside jusco shopping centre, then started to shop for some last minute items for the birthday, like the blue tag, some more goodies bags, tissue papers etc. They were disappointed not able to find a shop which sell helium gas for the balloons. After we met with Da Yi and Da Yi Zhang, we went back home first whilst daddy drove to another place for helium gas. See the bikes Da Yi and Xiao Yi bought for me as a birthday pressie. Isn't it nice? I love it soooo much!


Mummy and Da Yi started vacumning and mopping the floor once we back home, with Da Yi Zhang took care of me. They praise me good gal, as unlike other time, i did not fuss and cry for mummy to carry when they were busy. By 2pm, mummy brought me to bedroom for my afternoon nap.

The adults busy decorating the house with the banners and decorative stuff mummy bought online. Mummy is particularly pleased with a birthday backdrop she bought from another mummy from the forum. Daddy finally managed to get the 2 mylar balloons and 17 other balloons pumped at a price of RM61. To make sure our guest can find their way to our house, Da Yi and Da Yi Zhang brought 10 pink balloons and a card board written with "Yunxi's birthday please follow pink balloons" to tie on the lamp posts leading to our house (later we found out just that evening alone, more than 10 houses having parties...).

All this while i was sleeping and only woke up close to 6pm. Yi Po, Yi Zhang and Jia Han jiu jiu had already arrived from Sg. Mummy quickly prepared my dinner and bathed me afterwards.

Mummy dressed me in a red micky mouse dress and a dark pink robeez shoes! Finally i can wear shoes! Do i look pretty in my birthday dress and shoes?

The guests which include both side of families and daddy's friends and their kids, about 50 of them reached after 7pm.

At close to 9pm, we sang the birthday song. Seeing so many people surrounding the table. I was a bit scared and wouldn't stand on the chair. So mummy got to carry me while singing the birthday song and blowing the candle.


It's my birthday! So mummy cut a small piece of cake for me to eat. See how i enjoy eating the cake!

We got to enjoy fireworks which our neighbours were playing as it was the 10th day of chinese new year. Most of the guests stays until after 11pm. Daddy was busy entertaining his friends throughout the party until no time to even carry or play with me. :(

There are quite a lot of leftover of food and cake. Mummy is thankful that Wai Po and Jiu Jiu they all helped her to distribute the remaining food to bring back and helped her to tidy the mess.

My original birthday party dress which mummy planned for me. But she felt it was too plain so later changed to the more vibrant red dress for me. I got to wear this dress the next day after the party when I attend Ke Yan gougou's birthday party:

CNY Eve

Daddy was out early in the morning to help Ah Pak. Mummy and I woke up at 7 something and mummy started to get busy. She put me at the living room playing by myself while she vacumned the living room and dining room. However, as sticky as I am to mummy, i cried and crawled for her before she managed to finish mopping the floor. Out of no choice, she slinged me and continue her vacumning and mopping the floor and washing the clothes and bedsheets. It was a sunny day! And mummy managed to finish cleaning the house and her few loads of laundry before noon when daddy was back. In the afternoon, we went to nursery to buy ying liu, a kind of cny plant, and a vase to decorate house, before heading to popo's house for reunion dinner. Mummy dressed me in a pink chinese costume and they had an enjoyable reunion dinner at popo's place. We left popo's house b4 11pm, and i fast asleep in the car on the journey back until next day morning.

1st day of CNY


Today is CNY! Mummy and daddy gave me a red packet or ang pao and wish me good health. Then we went to popo's house. Everyone has already woke up and gougou jiejie had dressed in their new clothes! I was in good mood too and kept crawling to the coffee table as there are many bottles with sweet and candy. Mummy said i cannot eat these stuff yet so she only let me play with the bottle. Gugu then let me play a tricycle. She pushed the tricycle while i sat on it. It was fun and I loved to sit on it.

In the afternoon, we drove back to Pontian. To our surprise, there was no electricity at wai po's house and so hot. I was hot and cranky and won't let other ppl carry except for mummy and daddy. Anyway, i felt better after dinner. We left wai po's house 8 something as there was still no electricity.

My young cousins they all came to our house at night after we came back from Pontian.


I managed to climb the staircase all the way. Another headache to mummy...


2nd day of CNY

We went to popo's house in the morning for kai nian fan. Popo cooked many nice dishes but all i can't eat. We left for home at 1 plus to catch my beauty nap. Back at home, i refused to sleep and played in the living room. I was pushing a biscuit tin then knocked to the tin. My mouth so pain!!! And i felt salty as my mouth was bleeding due to knocking to my teeth. Daddy and mummy rushed to me. I was crying uncontrollably and mummy was carrying me to calm me. They got a shock too as first time i knocked myself until got blood and my mouth was swollen. I stopped crying after awhile but clinging tightly to mummy. To compensate their carelessness, mummy gave me some mandarin to suck. It taste good! That evening, we went to Mega Ria a seafood restaurant for dinner with gong gong, po po, Ah Pak family and Da gu family. Thereafter we went tesco megamart to shop. Daddy mummy bot a lot of drink for my birthday party in the coming saturday.

3rd day of cny

Today we went back Pontian as going to celebrate Lao Ma (mummy's grandma) 88 birthday. I was still very clingy to mummy but managed to take a good nap at wai po's house. All mummy's family came for the birthday celebration and we have 5 tables at Shun Feng Lou. Mummy put me in a highchair and fed me with fish and toufu. We reached home at 10 plus. However, i didn't sleep well in the night and wake up a few times.


4th day of cny<
I caught a flu! My mucus and my saliva were dropping everywhere! I have been drooling a lot recently due to teething and got irritated by constant rubbing off the mucus and saliva by adults.

We didn't go anywhere today. Daddy felt very bored at home so after i woke up at 4pm, he drove me and mummy out to kai kai. He kept on driving for quite awhile until we reached "Nan Ya Kang", a scenic fishing village. They have a sumptuous and very cheap seafood dinner before we headed back to JB. We were caught in the jam on the way back as people are on their way back to JB for going back to work the next day.

Popo came to our house to stay at night. I was very cranky due mainly to the stuffy nose and kept on crying and refuse to sleep and wanted mummy to carry. Daddy mummy and popo tried all means to make me sleep - carrying, singing, playing baby songs and finally milk milk, but i just won't want to sleep and continue to cry. Finally finally, i slept past 2am out of exhaustion...

Another hair cut....

Yi Po finally cannot tahan my "sa sa" hairstyle and brought me to a hair salon to trim my hair this afternoon! Much neater now right? :)

Ah Ping Jiu jiu's wedding

Last Saturday we went back to Pontian early in the morning, as it was Ah Ping jiu jiu's wedding! The house has so many people. So many relatives and everyone commented how big I am already and how time flies! Those yiyi love me so much wanted to play with me. I warmed up slowly but whenever i saw mummy, i wanted mummy to carry me. The bride is sooooo pretty! And Ah Ping jiu jiu looked so happy.

Dinner banquet were held in a school hall as too many tables! More than 70! Mummy dressed me pretty in an Old Navy blue dress. The wedding dinner ended at about 10pm. We went to wai po's house to get our stuff then left Pontian and reached our home by 12 midnight.


PS: I have accidently broken a bottle of ru yi oil at wai po's house when mummy carried me to the room to change diaper for me. The ru yi oil sprayed to the wall and left ugly marks which cannot be removed. Mummy feels soooo bad. But Da Jiu said he will touch up the paint. Hope the marks can be covered by the paint. :(

Sleepless nights.... zzzzz

I have decided not to take pacifier since last Thursday night.

It was to mummy and daddy's horror, as without pacifier, I will not fall asleep easily. To make things worse, I will cry very loud and long and wanted to be carried here and there before I finally dozed off thought I am so tired already. And many times, i will wake up middle of the night and another round of crying and carrying by mummy. This does not only happen at night, but also for my afternoon nap. Daddy mummy were so exhausted by my torture and wonder when this episode will end... :(

A New Haircut..... by mummy :)

Yesterday mummy cut my fringe, as i have not cut my hair since 1st month. My fringe was long and almost reached my eyes. Mummy brought me to the staircase and daddy tried to distract me by playing with me. I didn't bother much by mummy's cutting, but how come mummy so nervous? After that i realised mummy cut until my fringe so short now, and uneven. :( Mummy asked daddy whether should bring me to hair salon to make up for her wrong doing or not. They decided to let my hair grow back. Hopefully will be long enough when chinese new year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

How i spent the 1st day of 2008... Playing by myself at home while daddy mummy busy working.


Mummy has been very busy lately until no time to update my blog.

Anyway, a short update of me.

1) My 3rd and 4th teeth are sprouting out! That explains my crankiness and constant waking up at night for the past few nights.

2) I love to scream!!! And talkative! But nobody understands what i try to say. Saturday nite at popo's house i was shouting loudly non-stop, until popo came out from kitchen to find out which naughty grandchild of her was screaming. :)

Sunday at popo's house, there was a baby boy who is 3 months older than me. We were playing individually until i saw the gougou is playing with a round plastic bottle which i also want! So i quickly crawled over to him and wanted to snatch from him. He wouldn't let me! I was angry so we started screaming! The adults quickly separated us. Mummy and daddy were both shocked to see me so fierce, and think should try to let me mix with babies of the same age as me so i can learn how to share with others.
